February 15, 2011— Icelandic Water Holdings ehf, makers of the award-winning,CarbonNeutral® premium natural spring water Icelandic Glacial, announced today a partnership with Voilà to provide 160 tons of water to aid in Haiti’s Earthquake relief efforts. This marks the fourth major donation from Icelandic Glacial, totaling 440 tons of water and nearly one million dollars of product value that have been provided by the company’s “Water For Life” foundation. The water will be distributed by Voilà to beneficiaries in tent camps operated by Yele Haiti, Partners in Health and J/P HRO.
“With the outbreak of cholera and the recent one-year anniversary of the tragic earthquake, it is more important now then ever before for us to help with aid in Haiti as the residents continue to pick-up the pieces of their shattered homes and lives,” says Jon Olafsson, chairman and co-founder, Icelandic Glacial. “Icelandic Glacial is proud to partner with Voilà and leverage their expertise in Haiti to help ensure it reaches the people in need.”
Both Icelandic Glacial and Voilà have made an ongoing commitment to provide clean and safe drinking water to the people of Haiti.
